Education Technology
I am constantly striving to make prgramming accessible and inclusive. I take pride in creating artistic, innovative, EdTech-infused courses that will excite and engage students and that recognize their unique learning needs. I have taught and developed courses in a wide variety of highly diverse educational settings, and look forward to working on my next project!

Learning Management Systems
Canvas
I have used Canvas as both an instructor and a course designer. Most recently, I have been using Canvas to facilitate an online asynchronous course at the college level.
D2L Brightspace
I have significant experience using D2L to design and deliver learning experiences. I am currently using D2L in my Education Developer role to develop and launch microcredentials. I have used D2L previously to teach online courses for Queen's University's Continuing Teacher Education department and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Online.
MOODLE
I used Moodle for course development projects that I was involved with as an instructional designer at Royal Military College.

e-Authoring Software and Tools

nearpod.com
Nearpod has allowed me to successfully flip the classroom using its interactive video and documentation production features. I have also delivered live presentations to my classes over the last 4 years that require the students to follow along with their own devices; this has increased their engagement and interaction with the learning materials and enhanced their content knowledge acquisition.

Padlet
I routinely used Padlet, an interactive bulletin board application, as an alternative space to the LMS where students could brainstorm, collaborate, and post content.

Quizlet
I have incorporated Quizlet in my teaching practice as an interactive study aid for students and have used it for several offerings of the college communications courses I have developed and taught.

H5P
I routinely use H5P to creative and embed engaging practice activities in my courses. It offers accessible and easy to use templates in a variety of activity types that are great for differentiating.

Articulate Rise 360
Rise 360 is an intuitive, cloud-based e-authoring platform that has proven invaluable in my instructional design practice for creating interactive and visually engaging learning materials. The tool's drag-and-drop interface and pre-built component library enable rapid course development while maintaining instructional quality, allowing me to design courses that effectively blend multimedia elements, interactive scenarios, and assessments. Rise 360's responsive design ensures that learning experiences work seamlessly across devices, enhancing accessibility for diverse learner populations. Through extensive use of the platform's branching scenarios, knowledge checks, and customizable interactions, I have been able to develop learner-centered courses that promote engagement, retention, and measurable learning outcomes.

Canva
Canva has been an essential tool in my instructional design practice for creating visually compelling course materials that enhance learner engagement and retention. I have leveraged Canva's extensive template library and intuitive design interface to develop professional course banners, graphics, and visual assets that establish cohesive branding across learning experiences while requiring minimal design expertise. Beyond static graphics, Canva's video editing capabilities have enabled me to animate instructional content and add captions to videos, improving accessibility for all learners and supporting multiple learning preferences. The platform's vast collection of royalty-free images, icons, and design elements has streamlined the process of sourcing high-quality visual content, allowing me to focus on instructional strategy rather than spending excessive time on asset creation.

Virtual Meeting Apps

Microsoft Teams
I have significant experience teaching remotely and holding project development meetings through Microsoft Teams. I also use MS Planner as an add-on to keep on top of project timelines and deliverable deadlines.

Zoom
I have provided direct, personalized training to course instructors on how to use Zoom for classroom teaching, as well as conducting course project meetings through the application.

Google Meet
I have used Google Hangouts for teaching and course design purposes in the past. I am currently using it to connect with team members and SME's in my Education Developer role.
